When a young family hit our DM’s inquiring about designing a wellness market, our ears perked up. When they said their fundamental values were community, kindness, and sustainability, we were all in. Being the first of its kind in Nova Scotia, Luminate Co. seamlessly combines a market, a wellness center, and a community hub into one. We were brought on board for complete design including space planning, finish selection and custom millwork design. Our intention was a modern-organic aesthetic that brought warmth to an industrial space. Custom details such as the “refillery” made with local lumber and produce bins fabricated locally from recycled plastic drive home a message of sustainability, while a mural from a local artist, bespoke shelving from a local metalworker and a commitment to using local vendors first and foremost solidifies the core business values.
