Residential Design
Our Norwood project was one of love at first sight. (And no, not only because of the client’s beautiful 26 lb Maincoon cat.) The quintessential South end Halifax home was packed with historical character and charm, but with an already updated kitchen and ensuite. We were brought on to furnish and style this home and inject further character into the exceptional architectural bones.
The aesthetic of the home was designed with intention to create a layered, cozy feel but with some key modern touches that were conducive to our clients personal style. Inspired by the original architectural mouldings, we further enhanced the character of the home by adding strategic trim details and ceiling medallions throughout which feel as if they were original to the home. Historical details such as the powder room sink were not just preserved, but celebrated, by adding new brass plumbing fixtures to further enhance the feature.
For the styling, we leaned into the flow of the home and the separation of spaces by embracing colour and texture to create moody zones that are both cozy and captivating. The result is a beautiful mixture of styles that feel both appropriate yet unpredictable.
